Zune HD to play Xbox 360 games, To be shown at E3

There have been rumors of a Zune HD for awhile now. There have also been rumors of a Zune being able to play Xbox Live Arcade titles for quite some time now. What if i told you both of those are true? "Impossible" you say? It might not be as far fetched as you think. There are new rumors emerging of a possible Zune HD that not only plays your Arcade titles but may let you install retail games to the Zune as well. How would this work? Let me show you through my magical skills at Paint.

The bottom of the Zune would connect to the Xbox 360 controller with a "Connector/Holder" peripheral. Microsoft is also rumored to incorporate an NXE-ish interface. Now the retail games that you would install to your Zune HD(which may only be available in 80 Gb and 120 Gb models) would play your games in the same quality as on your Television set if not better due to the HD function. If they could also incorporate a Hot Spot service similar to the iPhone/iPod Touch than it would be compatible with LIVE. More clues indicating truth behind this rumor is Microsoft recently promised Zune owners that June would be a big month for them. Also one last feature that is rumored is since all 360 titles are compatible with Custom Soundtracks you may be able to import your Zune music library in the same fashion. Another story awhile back mentioned Microsoft hiring for a "Mobile Halo Team." E3 is only 16 days away, until then I'll leave the speculating up to you.

APB dev, Realtime Worlds, teases showing at E3

Realtime worlds has been rumored to be making a Microsoft E3 appearance for a long time coming now, it now seems that those speculations might just be true. Eurogamer seems to have asked Realtime Worlds if they are making it to the Expo in June and Colin MacDonald had this to say,"if we happened to be going, I'm sure we would make it known before too much longer, and we'd certainly give Eurogamer a shout to try to meet up." Well there you have it, you developers love to tease us don't you? I'm surprised this news wasn't though Twitter. If you are unfamiliar with Realtime Worlds' "APB" it is a cops 'n' robbers MMO, quite an interesting premise if you ask me. We will just have to wait for an E3 showing from Realtime to see if the idea can be pulled off.

Fanboyism is a Disease, We need a Vaccine.

Fanboyism is a Disease. We Need a Vaccine.

WARNING: If you are instantly infuriated with this article because my opinion is not exactly congruent to your opinion than you may be infected with a truly awful disease labeled as "Fanboy Disease".

Fanboys: we all know about them. As of late, I have noticed more and more—and maybe it’s just me—that it has been getting out of control. I am starting to believe that "Fanboyism" is a disease.

How so? Well, it is ever growing, it's devastating, and it cripples you. In this case, it cripples your brain. Now, there is nothing wrong with having an opinion, nothing wrong with preferring a system either, there isn't even anything wrong with a little friendly competition, in fact that's healthy for the industry—but you MUST have FACTS to back up you opinion. Otherwise, your uncontrollable rambling only angers people and gets no one anywhere.

It would appear "Fanboy Disease" is some hybrid between AIDS and Tourette’s syndrome. I have reached this conclusion due to the fact that AIDS has no cure but people constantly strive for one daily, and with Tourette’s you can't control what you say. I am sure while looking for some extraordinarily well-made Machinima on the internet we will see a "person" (if they even are human anymore) who will totally miss the point. They will accuse, say, DigitalPh33r of being "stupid because he is playing Gaylo 3 instead of Killzone" which that Fanboy-victim will then go on to go on and on about how great Killzone is in a fashion akin to this "Ki11zown iS teh ub3r L3Etist gaem of all tyem is is tah ekwivalant to Jesus adn Drugz & Sexayy Pronzzz!!11 11!!!! !!!!!! !1!!!one!! !!!&!!!" or something of that nature.

I personally have nothing against Killzone. I realize that this article is not informing you of any new ideas, just reminding you of how awful the situation is. Now, you can't heal the Fanboy Disease, but you can prevent other people from being sucked in, or slap yourself a few times before you are completely infected.

Just think this way, fanboys: imagine your console's games exclusive to the other console. Would the games you preach about how great they are still be as great? Imagine the same about your console's features or any retarded spawn of the two previously mentioned circumstances.

One last thing: bandwidth bills are being wasted on these Fanboy patients instead of going to school funds or something else that is actually relevant.

Duke Nukem Forever Developers, 3D Realms Shuts down, Where does that leave the game

I'm sure you all know about Duke Nukem Forever, unless of course you have been living in an underground vault your entire life. The game has been in development since 1997 and recently more and more news that the game may actually be released i.e. 2 screenshots were released late last year and one of the devs released news on his Twitter that the game was nearing completion. Sadly though as of yesterday 3D Realms shut down due to funding issues. Now even though most people were skeptical whether the game would ever come out or if it was ever even being worked on at all. I however was not one of those people i was optimistic and thought they would pull some kind of 13 year anniversary next year. Now honestly Duke Nukem Forever has become a long running joke and tons of people know about it, so that is marketing for itself and if it did come out everyone would say, "Oh well i mean i've known about it for 13 years so i have to get it". Even though many doubted it would ever come out, it angers me as it should you that now there is a very good chance it will never come out, EVER. Now that also means the jokes about it will cease now as well. Apparently Take-Two still has publishing rights to the title but still, do we want to play it if it isn't developed by 3D Realms? Hopefully someone will buy the 3D Realms crew soon and the publishing rights because having Duke Nukem Forever in any company's line-up would be very controversial. So what do you think about this whole situation and do you think anyone will ever release this game now?

E3 Poll

I personally think it would go to Nintendo of Microsoft for the simple reason that they have the weaker line-up. Just think for a second, that means that Sony will show what they already have announced and Nintendo and Microsoft will have the "announcements". But Sony definitely still has trick up their sleeves. They have Team Ico, Syphon Filter, God of War 3, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2, and a few surprises and tons of other resources for games. Nintendo has Pikmin, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, F-Zero, Star Fox, and High Voltage Software (The company responsible for The Conduit - Releasing in June). Microsoft has Rare, Lionhead, Halo Chronicles, Alan Wake...no seriously, Halo: ODST Gameplay, GTA4 expansion 2, Kingdom Under Fire 2, Magna Carta 2, Ninety-Nine Nights 2, Forza 3, plus Splinter Cell Conviction has been confirmed for release this year, and the New Vine service that has been rumoured and other potential games. As well as new IP's for every company is welcome and almost inevitable. WHat do you think. Xbox 360 Motion Sensing Accesory Spotted?

Apparently a new motion-sensing accessory is in the works somewhere. It will supposedly feature a camera and microphone. It would appear Microsoft has realised the potential revenue that can be generated by motion sensing peripherals. Here is a flock of feature that this unconfirmed motion sensor will sport.
  • Full body and hand gesture control of games
  • Picks up on small hand gesture such as pinching, scrolling, and grabbing
  • You can move objects on screen and have others watch in real-time
  • Sensor will somehow only detect the one playing and not those spectating on the couch

That's just a few amazing details. If this is true than Nintendo has something to worry about. The big N's philosophy was "Gameplay over graphics" which is true but if the Xbox 360 can support high definition graphics and full-body motion controls then Microsoft could be giving Nintendo a run for their money. More details will be released when available.

Gears of War creators apply patent for "Nano.Strike"

The masterminds behind both the "Unreal Tournament" and "Gears of War" series have applied a patent for "Nano.Strike". My best bet is this could possibly be a new game, opposed to a title update or expansion. Another patent was for a faceplate for Nano.Strike, as you may very well know the Xbox 360 has a removable faceplate. Plus Epic isn't exactly a stranger to Xbox 360 games. For the time being this is only a rumor but the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is less than a month away, June 1st to be exact. So we will have to wait and see were this Nano.Strike thing goes if at all.
